And so it goes....
"Thankfulness opens the door to My Presence. Though I am always with you, I have gone to great measures to preserve your freedom of choice. I have placed a door between you and Me, and I have empowered you to open or close that door. There are many ways to open it, but a grateful attitude is one of the most effective."
From Jesus Calling by Sarah Young
Another reminder staring me in the face. I have to admit, in a lot of ways I've found it easier to trust God when I'm going through the big stuff.... like needing a bone marrow donor that matches! It's the everyday, pay the bills, cars breaking down, college loans, sniffles and headaches, cat threw up kind of stuff that really gets to me.
Why is that?
I think if there is even a slight chance that we think we have control over something or we think we can handle it on our own, it shuts the door to the grace of God. But when we know that there's no way on this earth that we can handle it and we have no ability to solve it, we must turn it over.
Then we can trust.
But the turning over is a daily, sometimes hourly and many times even minute by minute process. My thoughts can get so off track so quickly.
"Be joyful always (it's possible!), pray continually (that's the critical part!), give thanks in all circumstances (we can because of what He has done for us!) for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thesssalonians 5:16-18
"Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise;
give thanks to Him and praise His name.
For the Lord is good and His love endures forever;
His faithfulness continues through all generations."
Psalm 100:4-5
Many thanks,
